Why Shree Ganesh called EKADANTA (एकदन्त)?

Shree Ganesh is called EKADANTA (एकद‌न्त)..there are many storoies behind called him EKDANT. I mentioning some stories-
1.Teeth broken during battle with Parasurama-
Lord Ganesha is called Ekadanta because he has a broken tooth. There are different legends story related to who broke these teeth. The most prevalent tale is related to the battle of Ganesh and Parashurama. Once Parashurama reached Mount Kailash to meet Lord Shiva but Ganeshji standing at the gate stopped him from going inside. Parshuram pleaded with Ganesh ji but he did not agree. Finally Parshuram challenged Ganpati to battle. Accepting this challenge, Ganesh ji fought but in the meantime, Ganesh ji one teeth was broken by Parshuram's axe.and Ganesh ji is called EKADANTA.

2.Karthikeya Ji broke Ganesh teeth-
Some people believe that Karthikeya Ji had broken Ganesh's teeth not because of Parshurama. Ganesh used to be very devilish in his childhood, while his elder brother Karthikeya was of a very simple nature. Shiva-Parvati used to be very upset due to the opposite nature of the two brothers. Because Ganesha often used to harass Karthikeya. At first, Kartikeya reprimanded his mischiefs for a long time. When the matter increased to a great extent, Karthikeya decided to teach Lord Ganesha a lesson. One day Karthikeya ji became very angry and he beat Ganapati which broke his one tooth and since then Lord Ganesha is called Ekadanta.

3.Ganesh ji broke his teeth and made Pen- According to the third story, Maharishi Ved Vyas,in order to write the Mahabharata, placed a condition with the writer Ganesh ji that he would not stop speaking. In such situation, Ganesha broke one of his teeth on his own and made him a pen. It is worth mentioning that different mythological beliefs are prevalent behind the name of Lord Ganesha Ekadanta, due to which today Lord Ganesha is fondly called Ekadanta by his devotees
